Outdoor Education – Involve Students in Outdoor Learning Experiences

W sierpniu nasza anglistka, Agnieszka Pakuła, odbyła tygodniowy kurs w Portugalii z zakresu edukacji pozaformalnej oraz organizacji nauczania poza szkołą (zgodnie z koncepcją Otwartej Szkoły). Zajęcia miały miejsce w plenerze, począwszy od portugalskich ogrodów, a skończywszy na średniowiecznych zamkach. Integracja zespołu polegała na grach międzykulturowych oraz wymianie doświadczeń i dobrych praktyk z nauczycielami z Austrii, Serbii, Chorwacji i Rumuni, a wszystko to pod okiem portugalskich trenerów. As the name of the course suggests, it was really about spending most the time outdoors and stimulating different learning experiences from educational study visits to outdoor intercultural games. And we weren’t fed up with it even after classes, as we tended to organise all sorts of outdoor activities in our free time as well (and believe me that it was much more challenging than simply lying on the beach). Apart from that, I had the pleasure to meet very passionate teachers from countries such as Austria, Croatia, Serbia, and Romania, not to mention our lovely Portuguese trainers. A great experience, one in a million!
