Mobility of I LO Teachers in Barcelona within the Erasmus+ Programme

From 8 to 14 March 2026, teachers from the First General Secondary School (I Liceum Ogólnokształcące) – Anna Pacak, Małgorzata Sobieraj and Jarosław Gruca – participated in a job shadowing mobility at a secondary school in Barcelona. The visit was carried out within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, funded by the European Union. The project coordinator is Gabriela Olea Martin.

The main aim of the mobility was to develop teachers’ professional competences, gain insight into the Spanish education system, and exchange experiences with teachers from the partner school. During the visit, the participants observed lessons in various subjects, took part in meetings with the school management and teaching staff, and analysed the organisation of the school as well as the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning process.

Particular attention was given to methods that support active learning, project-based work, formative assessment, and the development of relationships based on empathy and cooperation. Observing the work of teachers in the Spanish school also provided an opportunity to reflect on the role of modern teaching methods, the development of students’ key competences, and ways of fostering their independence and responsibility for the learning process.

Participation in the Erasmus+ mobility contributes to improving the quality of the school’s work, strengthening its European dimension, and supporting the implementation of innovative educational solutions. The experiences and inspirations gained during the visit will be used in everyday teaching practice as well as in activities aimed at the further development and internationalisation of the school.

The Erasmus+ programme supports international cooperation, the professional development of teachers, and the creation of an open and modern school that prepares young people to actively participate in the European community.
